Ben Lomond Vertical Kilometre
NZ's only certified Vertical Kilometere event takes you from near the Ben Lomond Woolshed to the summit of Ben Lomond, climbing 1200m over 3.9km
EVENT DATE:
Friday 14th February 2025, start time 0900. Registration and briefing at 0830
ENTRY FEES:
Earlybird Entry - $110 first 50 entries. (includes Skyline Gondola descent pass for post race)
Regular Entry - $120 (includes Skyline Gondola descent pass for post race)
- Entry fee includes; Skyline gondola dsecent pass, all race items (race bib, timing, medical support), additionally all finishers will receive a medal and special Altitude Brewing beer at the finish line.
The course starts on Ben Lomond Station beside the scenic Moke Lake. After completion of the course competitors will be able to return via the Ben Lomond track into Queenstown.
The course is all off-track and good footwork, balance and strength is essential. (Poles are permitted).

Over 1200m of climbing.

Competitive Runners – 1.5 to 2 hrs

CUT OFF TIMES:
While this is an uphill only course, all participants will need to descend from the summit. Official descent route to be confirmed pre-race. This may be a return to Moke Lake, or descend down the Ben Lomond and Skyline tracks. We reserve the right to alter the course to suit conditions. Cut off times apply to the course for your own safety and that of the volunteers, marshals and staff. Please respect the decisions made by race officials with regards to cut of times.
